About

HAPPY NEW EARS - International Congress Music Theatre for Young Audiences

What is contemporary music theatre for young audiences and how does it present itself? Where are the boundaries of thinking and acting, and which pedagogic approaches could help to overcome these boundaries? Where do opportunities for experimentation open up and how can new conceptual impulses be set? How can the development of experimental work methods be nurtured? How can young audiences be reached and integrated but above all: what kind of fruitful interactions arise through the encounter of different players and components?

Next to performances and presentations the congress aims to offer a space for exchange, where professionals and students can discuss and question given circumstances, developments and possibilities within the field of contemporary music theatre for young audiences and explore the different aspects through practical experiments.

HAPPY NEW EARS - Music Theatre for Young Audiences is an event organized by the National Theatre Mannheim (European Festival) and the Children's and Young People's Theatre Centre in the Federal Republic of Germany (International Congress). It is supported by the German Federal Cultural Foundation.
